Blackpool

Home of the famous Blackpool Tower, Blackpool is one of the most iconic holiday resorts in the United Kingdom and a hub of nightlife activity.

The Blackpool Tower, which was originally based on the Eiffel Tower in Paris, houses one, of only 2, water filled circus rings in the country (the other one being Great Yarmouth). Although occasionally closed in high winds, the tower offers a spectacular view from high above the resort.

With a population that varies greatly in the winter as opposed to summer, there is still much to do at any time of year.

The colourful nightlife provides a great draw for party goers, from stag and hen nights to ballroom dancers. (I believe that the Blackpool ballroom is still occasionally used for TV programmes).

As with many holiday resorts driving instructors will often provide residential intensive driving courses throughout the year. This is due to both the ample availability of accommodation (with the bonus of sightseeing while you are there) and the need to maintain a constant level of income during the quieter winter period. The higher population summer period is also not especially busy for driving lessons, as the people are mainly holidaymakers.

There are also a number of theatres, including the 2 or 3 on the piers that generally attract a few big names during the summer season.

There really is so much to mention about Brighton, but my personal favourite (apart from the circus) is the Blackpool Pleasurebeach. Need I say more?
